O.K. this is actually not PWS, but the confluence of the Russian and the Kenai River (Sanctuary - aptly called since we were there on Sunday) - Just though you may want to see what some old friends are up to (The Leahy's) - they have moved to AK and we are excited to share in the bounty.

Once I told Red Fox about the good weather and flat seas - he could not resist but coming to share a fire and some fishing.

Plundering and pillaging the high seas, I believe this one was the white King (36 inches if memory servers, but you know how fisherman are) I was thinking the biggest had to be around 40lbs, but after I got them home I am guessing the biggest is around 30lb.

Fish Stories? Red Fox gives me lessons. The class was called "Downrigger 101" Cathy says I should buy one, so I am going to start shopping - if not this year, for sure next year - I love hunting around the edges of areas working different depths and trying different hardware.

Coming into Wally Noerenberg (Esther Island) Hatchery - we stopped int to take a tour - this is North Americas largest hatchery, it was quite impressive.

Tim was our impromptu tour guide and you could tell that he had a passion for working here and enjoyed living here year around.

The Chums were in thick at the fresh water outlet, Caleb had to touch one.

I forget if these are pink or chum eggs, but the room had like 150 million of them.

These were Coho (silvers) they keep them for about a year of so and then release.
